The earliest history of Standard Technical Applied Resources, Inc. can be traced back to the founding of Standard Tech Chemical Company as a producer of chemical protective and decorative coatings in 1843. Years later, the company was sold to Montgomery Ward, Inc. in 1961, and acquired by Mobil Corporation in 1978. Finally, our company came under our current ownership and became Standard Technical Applied Resources, Inc. (STAR) in 1987.

Carmine A. Spatola is the proud president and owner of Standard Technical Applied Resources, Inc. He is a graduate of the City University of New York with a degree in chemistry, and he holds a Certificate of Achievement in Coating Technology from New York University. Currently, Mr. Spatola resides in Staten Island, NY, with his wife and two children.

Notable Accomplishments
With over 30 years of cumulative experience in the paint and coating industry, Mr. Spatola has successfully introduced and brought to fruition several noteworthy accomplishments, such as:
1. Worked as a liaison with the EPA Office of Toxic Substances and the Battelle Labs of Columbus, OH, on the Asbestos Abatement Program in the development and approval of a system for both removal and encapsulation of asbestos. 2. Developed a water-borne system for the suitable replacement of asphalt roofing compounds, thereby eliminating the carcinogenic and environmental hazards associated with such applications.3. Served as the Technical Committee Chairman for Color Guild Associates, Inc., a 42-member international consortium of coatings manufacturers who have combined their resources collectively for purposes of raw material evaluation, research, and development, and central purchasing.4. Holds the US Letters Patent #3600346.5. Worked as a former licensor to NY Bronze Company in Elizabeth, NJ, the manufacturer of the "ONE-STROKE" woodgraining system, with product sales exceeding $30 million.

Currently, Mr. Spatola serves as the Chairman of Liquid Sciences Inc., and as the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Technical Applied Resources, Inc. He is also a proud member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the New York Society for Coatings Technology Inc. Additionally, Mr. Spatola serves on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan New York Paint and Coating Association.
